Creating a Digital Collection
Abstract from a lecture by Frauke Kreutler, Wien Museum:
In my lecture I wanted to show the development of the digitalization project of the Viennese museum from the very beginning (specifications and mapping) until today (corrections of data sets, a tool for the ongoing mass transfer of recent excavations from urban archaeological sites into the collection management system, image digitalization of art collections).
In 2005 the Wien Museum started to take stock of its various collections in the different locations. The process ended in 2008.
