The new version of MuseumPlus is presented to the Catalan museums
On January 21st, 2008 350 IT specialists as well as Catalan experts of museums participated in the presentation of the new museum’s organization which had been planned by the Catalan authorities. The minister of education, Joan Manuel Tresserras, attended the ceremonial act celebrated in the “National Museum of Art in Catalonia” [Museu Nacional d’ Art de Catalunya (MNAC)]. A further point of discussion in that event was the presentation of MuseumPlus by the zetcom informatics company. The second part of the event consisted in a summary of the innovations implied in the new version of MuseumPlus; the software which is used and distributed by the museums in the whole region of Catalonia.
Furthermore, another interesting point of discussion was the activation of the website “Museus en línia” with the software eMuseumPlus which had been put into operation for the collections of six museums. At the end of that event the CEO of the zetcom informatics company, Marcel Zemp, demonstrated how other institutions used different options for their presentation in the web with the aid of eMuseumPlus.
