The museum “Museo del Oro” exposes, as the name already tells, a great number of pre-Columbian archaeological objects made of gold. In 1939 the museum was founded by the “Banco de la República” for the protection of the archaeological heritage of the state. The collection of pre-Columbian golden objects is the only one in the whole world and is considered to be the biggest one of its category (35,000 objects). In the next time the museum will introduce gradually MuseumPlus as well as eMuseumPlus in the museum.
