MuseumPlus in the Nationalmuseum of Stockholm
At the end of the year 2008 the Swedish Nationalmuseum decided to use MuseumPlus as their museum management system
The biggest and most renowned Swedish art museum, whose history dates from the 16 th century, houses around 16,000 paintings and sculptures and approximately 30,000 handcrafted objects as well as an art collection of high international standing. The Nationalmuseum also administers artworks from many castles as e.g. Gripsholm, Drottningholm, Strömsholm, Rosersberg and Uriksdal and not to forget to mention the Porcelain Museum in Gustavsberg. Masterpieces of Dutch art from the 17 th century also form part of this collection as well as French art from the 18 th century. With regard to the collection, Swedish art from the 16 th until the 20 th century is of course a main focal point of the museum.
In a comprehensive international tender the Nationalmuseum decided to document and to administer their collections with the Swedish version of MuseumPlus. Moreover, they want to present these collections in the Internet with the aid of eMuseumPlus. This big project will be carried out in the course of the year 2009. We really look forward to this particular collaboration!
