OVRA Archives goes live!
zetcom proudly supports the Swiss online archive of contemporary art
OVRA Archives is a database which enables artists to archive electronically and to publish their artwork, and thus make it available for experts and people interested in art.
OVRA Archives is an online tool, based on the MuseumPlus software application.
It was modified in order to support the archiving of artists and artworks from today's new media including installations, performances, video, film and sound. Written information can be collected and combined with a wide range of information on individual artworks such as digital images, videos, sound files, layouts and links.
The classification and arrangement of artwork makes it easy for artists to evaluate and comprehend their artistic development, thus facilitating to mediate and care for the art themselves.
The database serves as a catalogue and a device for electronic archiving for artists and their artwork. Artists can collect and arrange information on their artwork at any time. Once the data is uploaded to the FTP-server, it is available at any time, everywhere in the world. New members receive access to their individual account on the server.
"I was very much impressed by the prompt, competent and friendly support in all areas of the collaboration. Without this experience and knowledge, our project would not have been able to start." Renée Magaña
OVRA Archives is an association. The board members are: Renée Magaña (president), Annick Haldemann (vice president), Günther Ketterer (treasurer), Bernhard Huwiler (actuary) and Carola Ertle Ketterer (advisor). The online-archive is headed by Renée Magaña.
