The Ashmolean opens a stunning new building
On the occasion of the opening of a spectacular building, the Ashmolean Museum had to relocate their complete collection with the aid of MuseumPlus
The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, England, is the world's first university museum and also one of our biggest customers. Due to the construction of a stunning new building, designed by the world-renowned architect Rick Mather, the museum had to relocate its big collection of more than 400,000 objects. With the aid of MuseumPlus they now move the objects back to the 39 new galleries. The last months they have worked with more than 70 users editing between 20,000 and 30,000 records monthly.
The reopening of the oldest museum in the UK will be on
7 November 2009.
