Software as a Service (SaaS)

Software as a Service is designed so that the IT infrastructure is outsourced. This means that the software and your data are installed on a server hosted by zetcom. It requires neither elaborate nor expensive infrastructure installations.

The SaaS option allows us to offer you an optimal and cost effective system if any of the following applies to you:

  • No wish to buy software. This means a low initial investment.
  • Limited budget for IT infrastructure
  • Limited IT resources and no expansion planned
  • Plans to outsource IT services

The MuseumPlusRIA SaaS model is particularly suited to institutions that do not have their own internal network. The solution allows you to work from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Rather than paying for expensive software, you pay an annual fee for each registered user. The decisive factor is the number of registered concurrent users. The number of user profiles is freely definable.

Infrastructure and equipment

You can choose to run your application on a dedicated managed server or with other applications (this is known as a shared environment).

Our hosting service is reliable and will be configured to meet the customer's individual requirements.

Sample configuration for a dedicated server   

  • Virtual application server and database

  • RAID1 (System of several hard disk drives, data mirroring)

Online storage and backup

Individual online storage is available and is accessible from any computer. All data and images stored there are protected and backed up on a daily basis.

 

Premium back up
All data and images are fully backed up on a daily basis and a backup history is established so that you have access to daily, weekly and monthly backups.  In the event of a system or hardware failure or whenever you need to, we can restore the system to any state. Note that historical backups require more storage space than a simple daily backup.

High security package

Access protection and data security are guaranteed every step of the way. MuseumPlusRIA is web-based (JAVA - thin client) and will start up automatically after successfully authenticating yourself. No need to install or configure anything. You cannot use the wrong program version or inadvertently manipulate data. Security precautions are executed on the server.


MuseumPlusRIA standard version offers:

  • User and password-protected access to centrally stored data
  • Encrypted data transmission (https)
  • Comprehensive rights management for modules, evaluations, records and fields
  • Advanced firewall configuration (Port & IP-blocking).

 

Maximum security package
In addition to the basic standard version we offer:

  • Two-factor log-in
  • Dedicated server (on demand)

 

Two-factor authentication meets the highest security demands. In order to log in you need to obtain an additional security code which you will receive by text-message or e-mail. So you can use your mobile phone for the two-step verification method (as with online banking). You have no need to invest in expensive authentication hardware (tokens or smart cards).

Both the network and the server status are monitored by high-performance monitoring software. In the unlikely event of a malfunction, a highly skilled team of technicians is on call.
