Kookos collection management services to be transferred to zetcom Nordics

The Finnish Museums Association (FMA) and zetcom have agreed to transfer the business operations of Kookos collections management services to zetcom as of October 2023.

Kookos is a collection management service tailored to Finnish museums and has been managed by the FMA since 2016. The consortium of FMA, Finnish Heritage Agency, and Finnish National Gallery has provided this service and is based on the MuseumPlus software developed by zetcom.

As a result of the business transaction, all Kookos operations will be transferred to zetcom. Kookos currently has nearly 40 valued museum and collection customers that zetcom will continue to provide services to in Finnish via a newly established zetcom Nordics subsidiary based in Helsinki.

„With the acquisition, Kookos‘ customer relationships will be transferred to highly skilled hands. We believe that shortening the service chain will benefit Finnish museum customers, who will become part of an extensive, global network of zetcom,“ says Petra Havu, CEO of the Finnish Museums Association.

zetcom has more than 1,200 organizational customers around the world and its software is used by some of the most renowned museums including Museé du Louvre, the Norwegian and the Swedish National Museums and the State Museums in Berlin. zetcom offers solutions for museums of all sizes and disciplines and looks forward to serving Finland directly.

Marcel Zemp, CEO of zetcom, says ”The establishment of a subsidiary in the Nordics is another milestone in our international growth strategy. We are thrilled to welcome this cluster of Finnish museums to the global zetcom user base. At the same time, we would like to thank FMA and our future customers for their trust which we aim to return with continuous improvement of our software and service level. zetcom is looking forward to carrying on the great work of FMA and growing our Nordic community.”
