Celebrating 2023

A lookback at zetcom’s achievements in 2023: A year of milestones and growth

As the year draws to a close, it is time for zetcom to look back on an eventful and successful year. The past twelve months have been marked by outstanding projects and groundbreaking product developments. Innovation and commitment to museums and cultural institutions worldwide remain at the heart of our work.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, partners, and team members who have contributed to our success. Your trust, cooperation, and commitment have been the driving force behind this year’s exceptionally positive developments.

Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence

This year we celebrated a quarter of a century of providing cutting-edge software solutions to support museums and collections management around the world this summer. Here is the video from our 25th anniversary celebrations.

New Clients, Enhancements and Migrations: Over 100 new projects

In 2023 we significantly expanded our network, welcoming more than 30 new customers. Many of our existing customers opted for additional services such as eMuseumPlus or a migration from MuseumPlus Classic to the browser-based version of MuseumPlus SaaS.

These decisions not only demonstrate the confidence in our modern browser-based solution, but also the trust-based partnership we have with our customers.

Some examples of successfully implemented new and existing customer projects this year include:

Pergamon Museum der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin

Spencer Museum of Art

Dortmunder Museen

Kunsthaus NRW

Museen Obwalden:

Establishing zetcom Nordics

In a notable step forward, the Finnish Museum Association (FMA) and the zetcom Group have agreed to transfer the services of Kookos to zetcom. Kookos, a collection management service based on MuseumPlus SaaS for Finnish museums (active since 2016), will now continue its services in Finland as a subsidiary of Helsinki-based zetcom. This strategic development extends our commitment to providing optimal support to museums in the Nordic region.

New EODEM Standard

zetcom is proud to have been involved in the development of the Exhibition Object Data Exchange Model (EODEM) as a member of CIDOC’s Documentation Standards Working Group (DSWG). The EODEM standard, published earlier this year, is designed to facilitate the process of exchanging data between museums with different collection management systems, thereby saving time and promoting cooperation between museums – particularly in the case of loans.

This functionality for importing object data has also been implemented in MuseumPlus. This initiative underlines our ongoing commitment to promoting efficiency and collaboration in the cultural community.

Media Guide – MuseumPlus x MuseumStars

Another highlight of the year was the successful launch of our new MuseumPlus: Media Guide. Seamlessly integrated with our partner Fluxguide’s MuseumStars app, the MuseumPlus Media Guide modules enable the creation of engaging multimedia guides for museums and collections. To further enhance the visitor experience, MuseumPlus data can be used to create customised tours and exhibition stops for approved content. We are very excited about this innovative addition to MuseumPlus, click here for more information.

Outlook: Commitment to Innovation

Looking forward, zetcom remains committed to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible within the collection management software industry.

We remain focused on providing solutions that enable museums to efficiently navigate the digital landscape while preserving and promoting cultural heritage in its ever-evolving forms.

We look forward to another year of collaboration and innovation serving the cultural community worldwide.
