New to zetcom: The Vogtlandmuseum

The Vogtlandmuseum is the local history museum of the city of Plauen, Germany. The Vogtlandmuseum documents the cultural history of the Saxon portion of the Vogtland region from prehistory to the present. It is housed in three listed residential and commercial buildings dating to the end of the 18th century

The museum opened here in July 1923. Part of the permanent exhibition are period rooms, incorporating elements of the original interior design and decorative art.  The valuable collection of the museum includes about 500,000 objects. The Vogtland region, with Plauen as its center, is renowned for its fabric manufacturing, lace production and embroidery of global importance
